The Academy of Moral Sciences, Letters and Arts of Versailles and Ile-de-France, aims:

1. to develop and spread in the departments of Ile-de-France, especially in those from the old Seine-et-Oise, the taste and the study of literature, philosophy, history, fine -arts, archeology and economic and social sciences;
2. to group writers, scholars, scholars and artists residing in the departments of Ile-de-France, especially in those from the old Seine-et-Oise, or having contributed to increase by their works the intellectual heritage of these departments;
3. to create permanent relationships between these writers, scholars, scholars and artists and the cultivated public interested in their work;
4. to take care of the safeguard of the monuments and artistic treasures of the departments resulting from the old Seine-et-Oise;
5. ensure the publication of the Revue de l’Histoire de Versailles et des Yvelines.
